The 3rd Annual Women’s Council Wine Tasting was held on Thursday, May 1, 2008. An extravagant evening of great company, exquisite food, and fine wine and cocktails, the Wine Tasting is always an event to remember. Tasters have the opportunity to sample a variety of wines from around the globe provided by World of Liquor, Elizabeth, NJ as well as enjoy the delightful cuisine prepared by Maplewood Country Club, Maplewood, NJ. A dinner raffle and silent auction also contribute to the event’s excitement.

The Second Annual Walk for Health… Your Journey to a New Life was held Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Verona Park, Verona, NJ. The Walk is a family-oriented day with fun activities including face painting, balloon art, airbrush tattoos and an obstacle course. Proceeds support research, equipment, and education in the health and wellness areas of Saint Barnabas Medical Center and Saint Barnabas Ambulatory Care Center. The Walk also helps to raise awareness about the importance of a healthy lifestyle to our community. Friends, family, and community members can sponsor a walker, make a donation, or walk any distance that is comfortable for them.

[ top ] 8th Annual Miracle Walk to benefit the Saint Barnabas Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Miracle Walk was created by a family in gratitude for the care their daughter received during a three-month stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. A team of dedicated parents joined together to organize and participate in this annual walk-a-thon which raises financial support for the NICU. In the past 7 years, Miracle Walk has raised over $2 million to purchase advanced medical equipment for the NICU. Friends, family, and community members may sponsor a walker, make a donation, or walk any distance that is comfortable for them. Miracle Walk kicks-off with a host of family-friendly activities, refreshments, and entertainment including a DJ, face painting, balloon art, cartoon characters, and more. Scenic Verona Park boasts a stroller-friendly path to allow everyone in the family to get involved and make a difference. The 8th Annual Miracle Walk will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at Verona Park in Verona, NJ. The Annual Joe Pesci Celebrity Skins Game held at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ benefits the more than 200,000 children treated by the Saint Barnabas Health Care System each year. The skins game is highly entertaining and has featured celebrity participants such as Freddie Couples, John Daly, Rocco Mediate, Kevin James, Carson Daly, Mark Wahlberg, Chi Chi Rodriguez and Michael Bolton. This year, celebrities Ray Romano, Cristie Kerr and Natalie Gulbis joined Joe Pesci for the 7th Annual Skins Game on Monday, June 16, 2008.
