 Erik Douds is committed to making life better for children with diabetes. Diagnosed with juvenile diabetes himself, Erik’s world changed when his Saint Barnabas physicians recommended he try an insulin pump.
Freeing him of some of the rigors of managing diabetes, Erik realized how fortunate he was to benefit from this invaluable device. That’s when Erik’s mission and passion was born.
Realizing that some families are unable to afford an insulin pump and costly diabetes supplies, Erik was determined to lend a hand and make a world of difference. Soon Erik was a welcome sight at the South Orange train station selling snacks and bottled water to commuters and fellow Seton Hall Prep students. One candy bar at a time, Erik raised an astounding $5,000 to establish the Erik Douds Pediatric Diabetes Fund at Saint Barnabas. We are humbled by Erik’s accomplishments and know great things lie ahead for this dedicated young man.
